Shirley Simmons Wilson, 80, of Manassas, VA, passed away on July 23, 2024, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Shirley was born on January 24th, 1944, to John Andrew and Ruby May Roy Simmons in Lanesville, WV. She attended one-room Lanesville White School for grades 1 through 8. She graduated from Mountaineer High School in 1963. She left the mountains of West Virginia for Arlington, Virginia immediately after high school.
