Shirley Mae Tjarks was born October 19, 1929 to Ernest William and Alta Marie (Whipple) Tjarks in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Shirley attended the Iowa Falls was united in marriage to Clifford Glen Caruth on June 1, 1947 and to this union two children were born Glenn and Barbretta. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of Ellsworth Municipal Hospital Auxiliary, the Legion Auxiliary Post #188, and was a Girl Scout leader. Shirley loved her family and spent all her time with them and took lots of pictures when they were together. Shirley and her husband liked to travel.
