Shirley Mae Rupe Leeper Wood, 75, of Goldsboro passed away on Friday at the Brian Center. She was born in Bloomfield, Iowa to the late Raymond and Effie Rupe and was the wife of Bruce Wood for over 30 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Delbert Ray “Pete” Leeper and girlfriend, Laura Sciscoe of Goldsboro and Robin Lynn Leeper of Newport News, VA; brothers, Jimmy Rupe of Missouri, Johnnie Rupe of Goldsboro, Raymond Andrew Wood of NC, and Joshua David Wood of VA; a daughter in law, Sherry Bartlett of Goldsboro; sisters, Rosa Lee of Iowa and Peggy Carter of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Brittney, Jessica, Antonio, Angela, Mannie, Braxton, Dakoda, Matthew, Kelli, Hannah, Alyson, Luke, Arabella, and one on the way; great grandchildren, Trey, Marqous, Natasha, Adrian, Anna Joy and Don; and two adopted great grandchildren, Bella Cordes and Westyn Finchum.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her children, Douglas Wayne Leeper, Carla D. Leeper, and Ricky Leeper; and a sister, Deanna Finley.
