Shirley M. (Rothenberger) Nosalik, 95, of Peru, passed away Wednesday evening, May 9, 2018 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru surrounded by her family. Mrs. Nosalik was born on April 1, 1923 in Cedar Point to Edward and Emma (Gerard) Rothenberger. She married John S. Nosalik on September 21, 1946 at St. Patrick’s Rectory, LaSalle. She worked at the Holiday Inn, Peru as a waitress in the banquet room.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in LaSalle, LaSalle Baptist Mission Circle, Illinois Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary and was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Michael) DeVries of Roscoe and Deborah (Gary) Quesse of LaSalle; two grandchildren, John (Elizabeth) DeVries and Sara (Todd) Haenle; four great-grandchildren, Trent and Taylor DeVries and Smith and Mabel Haenle and her caregiver, Tatjana Drungiene. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Nosalik and her two brothers, Al and Robert Rothenberger.
