Shirley L. (Bates) Felix, 86, formerly of North Grafton, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Millbury Health Care Center after a long illness. She was the widow of Joseph W. Felix, who died in 1971.
Shirley was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Harrison E. and Emma L. (Sadler) Bates. She grew up in Upton and was a 1945 graduate of Upton High School. She then graduated from Becker College in Worcester and worked as a medical secretary for several physicians in Worcester until retiring in 1993.
She leaves several cousins and her friend and companion of 25 years, Vincent Abdella of North Grafton, who extends sincere thanks to the staff of Millbury Health Care Center for their loving care and attention. She was the sister of Harrison E. Bates, Jr., who died in 2005.
