Shirley Parker Johnson, 85 of Ovid, Idaho passed away on April 17th in Logan, Utah, where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 14, 1929 in Wardboro, Idaho to George Henry Parker and Jemima Alsop Parker. She has five brothers and one sister. Her family later moved to Paris, Idaho where she spent her teenage years. She graduated from Fielding High School in Paris, Idaho in 1947. She married her High School sweetheart, Ray Johnson on August 6, 1948 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They lived and raised their family in Ovid, Idaho and were blessed with seven children, 19 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

Shirley’s family was her life and greatest accomplishment. They spent many hours together working on the farm, gardening, camping, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and picking huckleberries. She had a great love of the outdoors and loved to be out observing the beauties of nature. She was a wonderful cook. She was very talented musically playing piano, accordion, harmonica and performing vocally in quartets and choirs. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, knitting, sewing and many crafts. Music soothed her soul up until the very end.
