Shirley Jean Savaria passed away on April 25, 2017. Shirley was born May 26, 1938 in Hailey, ID to Vern Davis and Dorothy Bowers Davis. She married Jim Savaria on August 23, 1958 in Hailey, Idaho. Shirley was a lifelong resident of the Wood River Valley. She worked for Sun Valley Company for many years as a switch board operator and sold lift tickets. She also worked at the Konditerei, Pendl’s Bakery, Warm Springs Restaurant and Bitterroot Property Management. She was also on the Blaine County Historical Museum Board of Directors for several years. Regardless of her occupation, she was a wife and mother first. Shirley was a mother to everyone she met. She loved her family deeply and would drive to the end of the earth to watch her grandchildren in any activity they were involved in. She didn’t have a selfish bone in her body and her faith and pride in her grandchildren was a source of strength in everyone that knew her. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Dorothy Davis, her sisters Patty Davis Beck and June Davis Schlunegger, her brother Rob Davis and her granddaughter Rachel Pince. She is survived by her husband Jim Savaria, her sons Patrick (Adele) Savaria and Albert (Mary) Savaria, her daughter Lynette (Dennis) Pince, sister Betty (Gary) Marcroft, brother Ron (Elenora) Davis, brother-in-law Conrad Schlunegger, nine grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
