Shirley Jean Kember, 95, of Serena, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at her home in Serena. Shirley was born February 14, 1916 in Serena to Harold and Charlotte (Bernard) Brandenburg. She married Charles Kember September 24, 1935, in Sycamore. He died January 3, 1999. She was a lifelong member of Serena Methodist Church, and the organist for many years, former member of Order of Eastern Star, Serena Improvement Club and Aberdeen Angus Womens Auxiliary. She is survived by one daughter, Jean Kember, of Greensboro, NC, two sons, Jerry (Wanda) Kember and Robert (Barbara) Kember, both of Serena, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Stanley Brandenburg, 2 sisters, Maxine Ford and Beulah Olson, one grandson, Jay Kember and one great grandson, Mitch Morahn, in infancy. Pallbearers will be Steve Hougsted, Jeff Kember, Barry Brannan, Brad Erickson, John Morahn and Tom White.
