Shirley Castle Jones, age 78, Trinity, Florida, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in Hernando-Pasco Hospice Center in New Port Richey, Florida.

Born May 20, 1929, Ridgefarm, Illinois, she was the daughter of George & Ruth Fletcher Castle.

Married February 2, 1951, to James E. Jones, who survives, residing in Trinity, Florida.

Mrs. Jones was a kindergarten teacher in the Logansport Public Schools. From 1966 to 1981 she taught at Washington Elementary School & Jefferson Elementary School and from 1981 to 1991 at Daniel Webster School.

Shirley was past president of AGLOW. She was a prayer warrior who loved her family and friends.

Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Tom Carson, Tarpon Springs, FL; Dianne and Tom Pray, Naperville, Illinois, Carol and Mark Hirt, Greensburg, Indiana. Son and daughter-in-law, J. David and Sandy Jones, New Port Richey, Florida;

Sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Walthall, Indianapolis, Indiana; Charlotte Neal, Tempe, Arizona; Gwen and Keith Heaton, Roseville, Illinois; and Dorothy and Fred Majors, Ridgefarm, IL; Brothers and sisters-in-law: David and Ellie Castle, Americus, Georgia; Jack and Dora Clark, Orange, CA.

Grandchildren, Andrew Carson, Beth Carson, Sarah Carson, Katie Carson, Matthew Pray, Krista Pray, Heather Hirt, Devin Hirt, Amanda Jones and Jeffrey Jones;

Also survivng is a great grandson, Michael Carson.

Numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, also survive.

Preceding in death were a brother, Robert Castle and a grandson, Gregory Jones.
