On November 24, 2021, surrounded by her beloved family, Shirley Ann (Holtman) Westra went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Shirley was born on September 10, 1941, to Adolph and Margaret (Potgiesser) Holtman. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. On June 10, 1960, she married her husband of 61 years, Bernard Lee Westra.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, her children: Stephen (Joy) Westra, Robinne (Toddy) Helsel, Amy (Tom) Block, BJ (Cheryl) Westra; her grandchildren: Danielle Westra, Jordan (Meagan) Westra, Nicholas (Melissa) Crandall, Cameron (Chelsea) Ramer, Brynn (Larry) Colwell, Brice Ramer, Kayleigh (Matt) Veldt, Lauren (Michael) Riley, Marquette Block, Savannah (Kyle) Lemmer, Brooklyn (William) Hatfield, Mackinney Block, Joshua (Linnea) Westra, Levi Westra; 13 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way. Her sister, Judy (John) Kline; her brothers and sisters in law: Patricia (Jerry) Pinkster, Herman (Georgia) Westra; Marian (Melvin) VanDyk, Marilynn (Dale) Hoeksema, Karl Westra (special friend Kristine). She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws: Barney & Florence Westra, sister: Linda Hurley; brother-in-law: John Westra.

For many years Shirley was involved with Milwood Little League. She was part of the original committee that brought the Little League Softball World Series to Kalamazoo. She enjoyed her family vacations to Gun Lake. After taking a cake decorating class, she became well known for the delicious cakes that she would provide for others. She loved tanning in her pool and enjoyed spending time with the family there. Shirley always had an open door for others and saw the good in everyone. She was a faithful member of the Second Christian Reformed Church.
