Shirley Alphin, 71, of Nampa, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 in her home of heart failure.

Shirley was born on January 2, 1941 in Redlands, CA. to Joe and Wynema Forehand.

Shirley is preceded in death by her father, Joe Forehand, her brother J.D. Forehand, her uncle Robert Forehand, her Aunt Anna Forehand and her beloved husband David Alphin. She is survived by two sons, Richard Grout (Angela), Randy Grout, a daughter, Renee Widick (Larry), four grandchildren, Michael Grout, Amanda Breshears (C.D.), Rebecca Adams and David Adams.

Shirley’s warm, loving spirit came through in all she did. She worked as a supervisor at the Idaho State School for over twenty-five years before retiring. Shirley loved music and couldn’t resist moving to any kind that was playing. She also loved the beach and enjoyed trips to the coast. She was quick with a smile and her laugh made everyone feel at ease. Best known for her dedication and devotion to her family, she will be missed as the glue that held them all together.
