Sherry Hyatt Reeder, born Sherry Lynn Hyatt on June 16th, 1949, lived a full and beautiful life that was drawn to a close on July 19th, 2014.

Sherry was the second of four children (Linda Hyatt Kranert, Wayne Hyatt – deceased February 2014, and Scott Hyatt) to her parents Wayne and Margaret Hyatt (both deceased). She grew up in Middletown, NJ and left to attend college at the University of Miami where she met her husband, Charles ‘Chuck’ Reeder. They married before she graduated and she continued her degree at several universities as they moved around for Chuck’s work before she finally graduated from Miami University in Ohio.

After college, while Chuck’s career required them to relocate, Sherry worked as a preschool, kindergarten, and pre-first-grade teacher in Illinois, Ohio, Connecticut, and Texas. She was great with children and loved teaching.

Sherry was a mother to two children, Charles H. Reeder III ‘Trey’ (married to Amber Ingram) and Stacy Lynn Reeder Blanco (married to Anthony Blanco). She was an outstanding mother who was able to be home for her children and she was involved in all of their activities. She was especially supportive of all of their accomplishments and interests. Recently, she was a very proud grandmother to Trey and Amber’s two children: Graham Nolan and Avery Beth.

Sherry was always an active person, participating in Jazzercise and playing tennis when the kids were young. After moving from Texas to Florida, she became very active in the fitness center of the Stonebridge County Club, where she participated in about 5 exercise classes per week and played in the women’s tennis and golf leagues.

After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October, 2013, Sherry decided to fight. She refused to let cancer get her down and she always had a smile on her face when getting her treatments. She lived her life always thinking of others first. Even on her worst days, she’d be wondering if the person in the chair next to her was warm enough.
