Passed away at age 51 after an 8 year battle with breast cancer at her home on March 5th 2015. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and one of the best friends one could ever hope to be around. Her infectious smile, even in pain, was a testament of the type of person she was. She always brought joy to the people who surrounded her and would always go out of her way to find something special about the person whom she was in conversation with. It could be someone’s eyes, type of purse, hair, clothes, jewelry or any feature imaginable and was taught to her by her father Herb Sperber who passed this last June. She was born in Brooklyn NY in 1963 and migrated west with her parents. She grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma attending Robert Louis Stevenson Elementary, Byrd Jr. High, and Memorial High School. She moved again to Phoenix with her parents in 1980, graduating from Sunnyslope High School in 1982. She attended Arizona State University where she earned a BA degree in teaching while continuing to work for her parents business at Tux-n-Tails in the greater Phoenix area. Through a close friend she met and eventually married David in 1995 and had a son and daughter. Sherri would tell you that her greatest accomplishment was her two children, Halle and Aaron. She is survived by her loving husband David, daughter Halle, son Aaron, her mother Janice Sperber, sister Hope Sperber, and brother John Sperber (wife Sarah), and niece’s Emma and Lauren. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle Hindi and Nate Jacobs and cousin’s Robyn and Melanie Jacobs. Sherri and her smile will be greatly missed by all those who have been touched in one way or another by knowing her. She was a hero to many, taking her disease head on and refusing to make excuses for herself. Rest in peace my love. When we call SHER !!! you do not answer, but we know you can hear us.
