Michelle Marie Swain “Shellie”, 43, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away July 29, 2015. She was born April 13, 1972 to Jackie R. Swain and Kathie (Shattuck) Swain. Shellie graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School in 1990 and went on to earn an Associated degree from IVY Tech. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Throughout her long hard fought battle, she remained her children’s biggest fans on the sidelines, sitting in her sports chair, of their softball, basketball, football, baseball, and track fields. Her children were her life, and she always made sure they were where they needed to be, without any complaint of how bad she may have felt. She will be missed by her children, family, and the many friends she has made throughout her lifetime. She is survived by her children Jackie Swain, her friend Dylan, and Jalen Swain; father Jackie R. Swain; aunts and uncles Carla and Brian Schoemaker, Mitch and Cheryl Shattuck; Mike and Debbie Shattuck, Matt and Julie Shattuck, Chris and Toni Shattuck, Bob and Anna Marie Swain; great aunts and uncles Peg and Carl Power, Brenda and Virgil Bourne, Charlotte Curtis, Katie Ritterskamp; special friends Lauretta Harmon, Brenda and Dwayne Stout, Jaime and John Roschel, David and Kelly McNeeley; several cousins; and her furry companions Gabby and Gabe. She was preceded in death by her mother Kathie (Shattuck) Swain in 2009; grandparents Homer and Barbara Shattuck, Ermal and Juanita Swain, and Ralph E. and Kathryn Curtis; and great uncle Ralph Curtis.
