Sheila M. McGinn, 59, of Bristol, wife of Joseph H. McGinn Jr., died Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital. Sheila was born February 24, 1947, in Hartford, a daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel (Arthur) Bachman.
Sheila graduated from Bristol Eastern High School in 1965, and obtained a degree in Dental Hygiene at the University of Bridgeport in 1967. She was an avid UConn Men’s Basketball and CCSU, and Red Sox fan. She enjoyed gardening, going to the beach, but most of all she enjoyed being with her grandchildren her family, and her many friends. Sheila was a member of St.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Thomson of Southington, her grandchildren, Matthew and Sam Thomson who affectionately called her “Nune”, two special nieces and nephews, Robin and Danny LeBeau and their children, Kelli and Jodi, and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph H. McGinn III.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Nurse Debbie Konopka and the St. Francis Cancer Center who provided such wonderful care during her illness.
