Sheila D. Peach , 85
North Greenbush-Sheila D. Peach , 85,of Todd Drive died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a long illness.
Born in Preston Lancashire England, she was the daughter of the late Charles Peach and Ellen (Rose) Peach.
She had resided in Troy for many years and was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1937 and attended Bridgeport University.
Miss Peach was employed as a program analyst for Benet Labs at the Watervliet Arsenal in research and engineering from many years, retiring in 1976. Prior to that she worked for General Electric in Bridgeport, CT before enlisting in the Women’s Air Corp during World War II, being part of the first contingent of WAC’s going to the South Pacific and being stationed in Hawaii on March 17, 1944. Miss Peach was a Corporal in the WAC’s.
She was a trustee in the Upper Hudson Library Federation and the North Greenbush Public Library; a member of the Board of Directors of the Civilian Welfare Coucil of the Watervliet Arsenal and the Watervliet Arsenal Federal Credit Union. She also belonged to the Wynantskill American Legion, Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, Friends of the North Greenbush Library and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She is survived by her dearest closest companion and friend, Kathleen M. Connally of North Greenbush; cousins,William, Alice, Marlo and Christopher Maloney of Latham, Michael Peach of Atlanta, GA and several cousins in England. She is survived by a multitude of friends including, Al and Nell Kriston, Bernard Ives, Shirley Lewis, Patricia Daley, Lucy Owens, JoAnne Siracusa, Ann Briggs, Martha Nero and the late Beverly Morris. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jack P. and Charles Peach.
