Sheila Ann McWhorter Compton, 72, of Moulton, Alabama passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at her home in Moulton.
Born on September 27, 1949 to Ray and Ruby Butler McWhorter, Sheila was a lifelong resident of Moulton, Alabama and a member of Moulton Church of Christ. She graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1967 and attended cosmetology school immediately after. Sheila owned and operated her beauty shop for almost 50 years.
She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband Boyd, of 55 years; children, Haley James (Dan) and Sam Compton (Heather); grandchildren, Daniel James, Laura Ann James, Katherine Compton; father, Ray McWhorter; siblings, Tim McWhorter (Melba), Reta Blevins (Buster), Ricky McWhorter (Sherry); nieces, Misty Phillips, Kelly Shelton, Sally Rae Darnell, and Sara McWhorter; nephews, Les Blevins, Joe Paul Blevins, and William McWhorter; and a large extended family and friends.
Sheila is preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Lee McWhorter; and niece, Suzanne Blevins.
The family extends special thanks to her nurses and the staff at the Congestive Heart Center at Huntsville Hospital, especially nurse Marie.
