Shawn William Overall, 31, of Meridian, died on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. Shawn was born on July 28, 1980, grew up, and lived in Boise, Idaho. He spent many years on the soccer field as a goalkeeper playing for the Boise Capitals, the Idaho ODP program, the Washington West program that traveled to England and Scotland, and the Borah Lions. He graduated from Borah High School, received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Boise State University, and continued his education by passing all of the CPA exams. Shawn spent 9 years working for the JR Simplot Company as an accountant.
Shawn married Kylee Puyear, the love of his life, on June 26, 2004. Family was number one for Shawn. His wife Kylee, and his two children Bella and Bergan, were his pride and joy. Shawn was an avid runner and competed in the Seattle Rock & Roll Marathon with a time less than four hours. He also competed in multiple events in the Boise area. Shawn loved camping, being outdoors, and hanging out with friends and family.
Shawn is survived by his wife, Kylee Overall; his children, Bella Noel and Bergan William; his parents, Jerry and Lynda Overall; his sister, Chrissy Overall; his father and mother-in-law, Jack C. and Vickie Lynn Puyear; his sister-in-law, Jacy (Puyear) Ballenger and her husband Greg; his five nieces and nephews, Dylan, Carter, Jaymes, Jackson, and Cannon; as well as many friends. Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Betty Overall, and Burl and Edna Akins.
Shawn will be remembered for his love of life, his wonderful smile, and the way he touched the lives of those who knew him.
