Sharon Sue Newton, Age 65, of Midland died at the University of Michigan Medical Center on Friday, September 25, 2009 after a sudden and brief battle with leukemia.
The daughter of James and Evelyn Robertson was born on February 6, 1944 in Gainesville, Florida. Raised in Gladwin she later attended Northwood University in Midland where she met her husband Thomas W. Newton. Together they raised three children. Sharon preferred to be a stay at home mom while the children were young. Later she achieved her realtor’s license and spent 15 years in the business mostly with Ayre Rhinehart. Sharon loved to dress up and interact with the public and her specialty was her shoes, so much so that her fellow realtors wondered “what is she going to wear next?” When Sharon retired from real estate she became involved in gardening—-she was especially proud of her tomatoes. She also filled her time by cheerleading with the Great Lakes Loons Legends for two years.
Sharon wanted to thank all the medical teams and their heroic efforts in helping to battle her disease
