Sharon was born on July 16, 1947 in Muncie to Cecil and Mary Jane (McKinley) Tharp. She was a graduate of Eaton High School, class of 1965 and went on to study computers at Ivy Tech.
On December 11, 1965, in Eaton, she married Richard Morris and together they would have two sons. Sharon worked for Delaware Community Schools as a Secretary at Eaton Elementary, retiring after 26 years of employment.
