Mrs. Sharon Kay Todd was born on April 27th, 1949 to Jean Yates and Irvin McJunkin in Norfolk, Virginia. She was married to her husband, Alton G. Todd, Jr. on January 21st, 1967.

They celebrated their 54th anniversary this year. Sharon will be dearly missed by her husband Alton and their three children: Deneé M. Nichols, Corinne T. Berga, and Alton G. Todd III, as well as the seven grandchildren. At the age of 21, Sharon was baptized and has since been a devout Jehovah’s Witness, regularly attending Kingdom Hall meetings and remaining involved in her community for the past 50 years.

Mrs. Todd was a very accomplished woman, having graduated summa cum laude from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor’s of Engineering and Mathematics. Prior to graduation, she was a substitute teacher in Great Bridge; after receiving her degree, she became a mathematics professor. She also gave back to her community by tutoring students at all levels.

At home, Sharon was a talented seamstress and avid reader. When not sewing or reading, she was often at practices and games for her children’s various sports. As both a mother and grandmother she was incredibly caring and involved, often taking the grandchildren for a “Sleepover at Grandma’s”. Overall, Sharon was a wonderful and caring woman who devoted her life to helping others. She will be missed by us all.
