Sharon Dorene Delaney, age 70, of Manassas, VA, passed away on February 20, 2018 at Novant Health Prince William Medical Center. She was born on March 14, 1947 in Alton, Illinois to George M Fries and Christine Heeren Fries. She was heavily involved in church, whether in the choir, or helping with the accounting. Her faith was her first and true passion. Her charitable contributions were extensive, and as a result, inspired others to start a Refugees Ministry in Spain. The children in the church re-named her the “Candy Lady”, as she spoiled them with candy after every service. She was a local school teacher for over 20 years. With a Masters in Education, she co-founded Trinity Christian School in Guam and became their first principal. After retirement, she continued her educational contribution by teaching neighborhood children in her much cherished dream home. When not using her teaching knowledge, she enjoyed using her hands and improving her gardening skills, and taking care of her dog Zeus. She is survived by her son Michael Delaney, and wife Audrey; daughter Heather Krause, and husband David; grandchildren Parker, Caitlin, Crystal, and Zac, and four great-grandchildren Quinn, Charlotte, Griffin, and Elliotte.
