Sharon Ann Conrad was born on June 28, 1955 in Jacksonville, NC to James Clyde Conrad and Esther Ruth Mills Conrad. She passed onto her next adventure at the University of Kentucky Hospital on March 19, 2022.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Melba Fountain and Tony Conrad.  She is survived by sisters Theresa Gray, Rhonda Conrad (Jason Airlie) and brother Danny Conrad and other family and friends too numerous to name.

Sharon was a lifelong resident of Alma, Ga and graduate of Bacon County High School where she excelled in various sports as well as playing basketball for South Georgia College.

Many will remember Sharon as knowledgeable, winning and a great fundamental softball coach, but “her girls” will tell you the lessons she taught on and off the field go far beyond softball. Sharon lived a life that was fair, forgiving and fun for all.

Retirement afforded Sharon the time to do many things. She continued her love of travel with family and friends as well as many concerts and sporting events.  She expanded her craft skills, sharing her results. Sharon enjoyed making and entertaining new friends in Kentucky. However, there is no doubt that, Sharon cherished most her time working at Camp Dixie with Rhonda and nurturing her Camp Dixie family.

During this last adventure Sharon was lifted by the hundreds of prayers and supported by Rhonda, Jason, Esther, Kyle, Ann and “Blake”.  Sharon, her friends and family would also like to thank the medical staff at Meadowview Regional Hospital and the University of Kentucky Health Care for the professional and kind care they provided.

Making friends came easily to Sharon and many of those friends became family.  Those family and friends who Sharon held deepest in her heart know how much she loved you because she showed you and told you.  (143)
