Eda Aston “Peggy” Seyford died at her home, No. 17 Innisfree Dr. in Durham on the morning of December 27, 2010. She was 93. Peggy Seyford was born on April 28, 1917 in Morristown N.J. and raised in nearby Succasunna, a classic American small town. She was educated at Drexel Institute in Philadelphia and frequently went to Annapolis to attend hops with Midshipman Frederick Charles Seyford. They were married in 1939, as soon as the Navy permitted, and were happily together for 57 years. As a Navy wife, Peggy Seyford flourished, traveling around the world and to three continents. Moving to Durham in 1988, Peggy continued her talent for making friends easily. It was among her greatest gifts. She is survived by her sister Carolyn Bishop, her daughter Peggy-Jo and two sons Rick and Ron to whom she was a devoted mother, and through many years of vigorous old age, a boon companion.
