Sean Robert Carville passed away in New Haven, Connecticut on September 22, 2018 at the age of 39, after a long battle with addiction.
Sean was born on November 2, 1978, the son of Michelle (King-Carville) McCusker and Donald Robert Carville Jr. Sean’s father passed away when he was seven years old. Michael McCusker came into his life when he was eleven and became his stepfather when he was twelve. Sean was his Best Man, an honor he was delighted to do.
Sean went through the Avon School system as a young child and then moved to Plainville where he finished his education. He was a fun-loving active boy who adored living on his grandpa’s farm in Avon but was content to move on to Plainville. Sean loved sports and was a very good baseball and basketball player. He was a quiet reserved person but always had plenty of friends. Sean was also impulsive; as he grew older his impulsive nature led him to alcohol and drugs, a whole other world, a life he entered carelessly and causally, that got a grip on him. A grip so strong he could not pull himself away from. He died of an overdose.
Sean was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Clarence King, his paternal grandparents Elaine Pease and Donald Carville, his grandparents Mildred and Donald McCusker and his Uncle Charles Carville.
He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Marilyn King. Sean was her first grandchild; she has always had a soft spot in her heart for him.
Sean leaves behind his brothers, Matthew Carville and Philip McCusker and his sisters Alexandra (McCusker) Hurlock and Rianne (McCusker) Klink.
Sean also leaves his many aunts and uncles, Kathleen King, Suzanne and Steven Dunbar, Elizabeth and Lawrence Berdensey, Michael and Miriam King, Marilyn King and Jonathan Hood, Christopher and Polly Carville, and Thomas Carville.
Sean was the oldest of the grandchildren and has left behind twelve cousins. He especially shared many memories and happy times with his cousins Timothy and Lauren, and his ever faithful companion, his brother Matthew.
Sean had many people try to help him become sober and clean throughout his adult life. Two people that stood out in his journey are Gordon Green and Marci Tratnyek. Many people tried to help him, but Gordon and Marci never gave up on him. Their tireless efforts will forever be greatly appreciated.
