Scott “Skip” Jones, 59, passed away on April 21, 2023, in Akron, Ohio. Scott was born on April 11, 1964, and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, later moving to Northampton, Ohio. During his years at Woodridge High School, he became “Skip” to everyone who knew him, gained respect and accolades for his wrestling skills, and acquired many life-long friends. Following graduation from high school, Skip moved into his life-long career as an expert tradesman. His honesty, knowledge, and drive to give customers the best value for his work won him repeat and new customers simply by word of mouth. Skip was an avid sports fan, which was always a good reason to meet with friends and family or host get-togethers at his house. He loved filling days with his dog of 16 years, Beasley, whether it be a drive in the car or taking her for a swim.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Carol Adamson VonGunten and Karl Jones; brother, Walter C. VonGunten III; and side-kick pet, Kit Carson.

He is survived by his loving son, Weston Jones and loyal dog Beasley; his girlfriend Caláh and her fur baby and his favorite one-eyed pup, Willie aka: ‘Lil Buddy’; stepparents, Walter C. VonGunten Jr. (Vivian); aunt, Penni Adamson Gallagher; brothers, Mark Jones (Sandra), Craig VonGunten (Margaret), Curtis VonGunten (Laurie); sister, Vicki VonGunten Tilghman (Eric); nieces and nephews, Justin (Kayla), Jerett, Walter C. IV (CJ), Kelsey, Beau, Shelby, Bailey, Lauren, Devin, Ryan, Tyler, Parker and Courtney (Garret).
