Lawrence Schulte, 87, of Germantown, died Friday, March 9, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. He was born August 7, 1924 in Albers, son of George and Christine (Beckmann) Schulte. He married Dolores Frerker on October 10, 1950 at St. Boniface Church in Germantown and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Pat (Joe) Schomber and Jim (Yvonne) Schulte all of Belleville; three grandchildren, Dana (Jason) Miller, Meredith (fiancé, Jeremy Osgood) Schulte, and Cameron Schulte; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Wyatt Miller; a brother, Hugo (Arlene Schulte of Belleville; sisters, Clara (Bob) Kohrmann of Albers, Loretta Kudrna of Mesa, AZ, Helen Tonnies of Breese, Dorothy (Norman) Wilke of Belleville, Alice (Leo) Speichinger of Fairview Heights; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Frerker of Germantown, Leo and Bernice Frerker of Breese, and Frank and Ruby Frerker of Germantown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Eckmann; brothers and sister, Leo Schulte, Alvina Albers, and Joe Schulte, who died in WWII; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clara Schulte, Aloysius Albers, Ray Michels, Ralph Tonnies, Ray Schwaegel; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Cecilia (Thoele) Frerker. Mr. Schulte worked at Ford Motor Assembly Plant in Haselwood, MO and also did upholstery work in the area. He was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of St. Boniface Parish in Germantown, the American Legion Post 1026 in Albers and a member of the UAW. He enjoyed gardening.
