Lorraine M. Schniers, 84, of Albers, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Countryside Manor in Aviston. She was born December 25, 1927 in Albers, daughter of Bernard J. and Pauline (Baahlmann) Norrenberns. She married Cyril E. Schniers on September 10, 1952 in Albers and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1986.

She is survived by her children, Cy A. (Susan) Schniers of Aviston, Mark S. (friend, Tammy Hanks) Schniers of New Baden, Mike G. (friend, Hildy Smith) Schniers of Centralia, Carl B. (Mary Jo) Schniers of Oakville, MO, Dan J. (Suzette) Schniers of Damiansville, Jay A. (Jane) Schniers of Breese, and Denise M. (Doug) Walters of Albers; 19 grandchildren, Joshua (Heather) Schniers, Joe (Trace) Schniers, Jaimie (Chris) Albright, Jentry (Nick) Brink, Lisa, Casey, Nikki, Nathan, Becky, Carl P., James, Chelsey, Megan, Amanda, and Bradley Schniers, Ronnie and David Gebke, and Matthew and Karlee Walters; four step-grandchildren, Cory Hanks, Stephanie Jeltsch, Erick (Kristina) Vernia, and Holly (Jeremy) Burrow; five great-grandchildren, Gavin, Ambrea, Grayson and Mia Schniers and Hunter Atnip; four step great-grandchildren, Destiny, Makayla, Emily and Bethany Schniers; three brothers, Tom (Betty) Norrenberns of Mascoutah, James “Jim” (Mary Ann) Norrenberns of Albers and Pat (Esther) Norrenberns of Carlyle; three sisters, Monica (Les) Barkis of League City, TX, Madonna (Tim) Koch of O’Fallon and Paulette Templin of Albers; and a sister-in-law, Ethel Haake of Germantown.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Carol Jean Schniers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Terry Templin, Bernell & Phyllis Schniers, Mary Gail Schniers, and Arnold “Spike” Haake. Mrs. for Behrmann’s Meat and Processing in Albers for many years. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Altar Sodality and the American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary in Albers. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and dedicated her life to her family and her church.
