Sara Jane Burger, 94 of Niceville, Florida passed away April 24, 2014 of natural causes.
Jane was born in Connellsville, PA on June 30, 1919. She earned two Bachelor of Arts Degrees in History and English from Hood College in Frederick MD in 1941.
Jane was married to Lt. Col. Joseph M. Burger (USAF RET) on OCT 1, 1943; they were married 64 Years.
When Jane and Joe retired to Niceville, their love of golf brought them together with many longtime friends. She was actively involved with the Eglin AFB Retired Officer Wives Club and the Ladies Golf Association for thirty years playing golf and bridge with her friends. She was an avid reader and a loyal member of the Bayou Book Club in Niceville FL.
Jane is survived by three daughters: Sandra Ann Burger of Ft Lauderdale, Nancy Ann Bennett (m. Ron Bennett) formerly from Niceville and currently from Boynton Beach, FL, Elizabeth Jane Jones (m. Keith Jones) also formerly from Niceville and currently from Boynton Beach, FL ; daughter-in-law Kerry Burger and family living in Westport WA; grandchildren: Jeff Kirby (m.
