Mr. Santos “Tio” Manriquez Leon, 60, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at Goshen General Hospital on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 7:58 am. He was born in Cueramaro, Guanajuato, Mexico on November 1, 1960 to the late Emetero Manriquez and Guadalupe Leon. He later married Teresa Solano, and she survives at home.

Also surviving are his sons Rolando (Natzielhi) Manriquez Canchola and Santos Manriquez, Jr., both of Elkhart; his daughter Brenda (Gustavo) Manriquez Mejia of Goshen; brother Juan (Maria) Manriquez Rangel of Dallas, Texas and sisters Anna (Juan) Soto and Emelia (Pablo) Urvina, both of Yakima, WA; grandchildren Eidan, Kilian and Marliesse Manriquez and Madilynn and Christopher Mejia; as well as one on the way! Tio is also survived by a host of loving extended family and good friends.

Tio was a hard worker and enjoyed staying busy. He was employed at Norco Industries of Elkhart as a machine operator for almost 20 years, and before that was a farmer for the Evans Fruit Company in the state of Washington for almost the same amount of time. When he wasn’t at work, he kept himself busy working on and detailing his cars, spending time outdoors working on his yard or entertaining his family, whom he loved dearly. No matter what the situation, having the family all together was a big deal for Tio and he simply loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
