Sandra Sedillo went to her eternal rest on Tuesday,  August 31, 2021 surrounded by family and friends who loved her.

Sandra was a generous and compassionate person and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.  She will be missed by her parents Lydia and Gilbert Sedillo, siblings James, David, and Donna (Vince Apodaca, niece- Veronica, nephew- Sam), Uncle John Santos, Aunt Elva Santos, Aunt Sally Donovan, Aunt Sue Santos, as well as many cousins.

Sandra was born on April 18, 1957, she graduated from West Mesa High School and received her degree from the University of New Mexico.  She worked as a probation officer for Metropolitan Court, and after her retirement she kept herself busy by working various part-time jobs, most recently working at UNM HSC Department of Epidemiology as a Patient Navigator.

Sandra led a full life, she enjoyed traveling and her favorite trips were traveling to Spain and Portugal, trips she and her sister took with the Morales sisters and trips to Mexico and San Francisco.  Sandra was a huge San Francisco 49er’s fan, and watching football with friends brought her joy.  Sandra loved to read books for pleasure and for knowledge, she shared her books and her knowledge with those around her.  Sandra developed a love of dancing when the disco phase hit in the 1970’s. She took ballet and flamenco dance classes while she was at UNM and spent a few months in Korea dancing in flamenco shows.  Sandra liked to spend quiet time in her garden and having an afternoon tea at the Ivy Tearoom.  Sandra’s guilty pleasure was shopping-oh how she loved to shop!  She liked shopping for shoes, purses, jewelry and make-up, and she loved to put together an outfit no matter where she was going- she was our fashionista!

However, most of all Sandra loved her family and friends.  She dearly loved her immediate family and relatives; she adored her niece and nephew; and cherished her numerous friendships, especially her group of Amigas and Lolas.  The family would like to especially thank her Angels on Earth: Donna Torres, Dolores Garcia, Dorrie Zamora and Sandi Archuleta, for all they did to love and support Sandra over the last two years.

Sandra’s Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. San Martin de Porres Catholic Church located at 8301 Camino San Martin SW, 87121.

Once capacity limits have been reached, mourners can turn to 88.
