Muncie – Sandra K.
Sandra was born in Muncie on April 17, 1969 to Robert L. and Eddie-Jean (Harry) Phillips. Sandy grew up in Muncie and attended St. Lawrence Elementary, McKinley Jr. High School, and graduated from Muncie Central in 1987.
In 2000 Mrs. Tomlinson obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood development from Ball State University. She worked at Headstart for several years.
Sandy was a huge Elvis fan, as was her mother. She was blessed in having attended two Elvis concerts, and loved attending the Annual Elvis Week in Memphis. She was working on an 800 page Elvis book featuring many never before seen Elvis photos. The book was near completion at the time of her death.
Sandy was a very kind and loving person. She never met a stranger, and was always ready to help those in need. She cherished her grandchildren, “Allie” Austin of Georgia, age 5 and Cameron Austin, 5 months old, of Muncie. She also adored her pets Peanut and Spanky and Snickers, and her birds Tiki and Coco.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Michael Tomlinson; a son Jeremy Austin, (Monica), Muncie; a brother, Robert A. “Tony” Phillips, (Cathy), Green Bay, Wisconsin; a sister, Lisa Oelslager-Sobczak, (David), Muncie; two special nieces, Erika Phillips, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and Sierra Oelslager, (friend-Chris Davies), Muncie; special nephews, James “Darren” Oelslager, (Heather), and their sons, Dylan and Peyton, all of Muncie, Joel Phillips, Green Bay, Wisconsin, Andrew Oelslager, Vincennes, and James Frazier of Muncie; special aunts, Emma Jean Elder, (Bob), Muncie, Rita Harry-Cheatham, (Cecil), Muncie, and Jolene Watters, Marion; special uncles, Roger Harry, Muncie, and James Harry, Colorado; special cousins, Sheryl Howell, Woodbury, Tennessee, Michael Elder, Muncie, Rhonda Parker, Muncie, Brian Cheatham, Muncie, Jeff Harry (Michele), Parker City, Jesse “Jamie” (Jennifer), Wabash, Ben Harry, Colorado, David Harry, and Wendy HardCastle, Wabash. Sandy had many special friends that she considered family. James Oelslager, Jimmy Austin, Billy and Vickie Conwell, daughter Ashley Conwell, Tyler and Avarie Sneed, Dana Buck, (Johnny), and her sons Dustin, (Grace), Tyler, (Whitney), Kyle and Jonathon Gilmer, Mark Workman, Chuck Bertram, Stephanie, (Jeff) Musick, all of Muncie; and her Elvis buddy, Sharif Hanna, Los Angeles, California; Also a special thanks to the entire Tomlinson family, Bill Clark, (Kathy), Cindy Curtis, (Lee), Brian and Brad Tomlinson, Lisa Parris, (Tony).
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1998 and her father in 2007 and her grandparents, Lee and Grace Webster-Phillips and James “Ed” and AV (Riddle) Harry.
She will be buried with her parents at Elm Ridge.
