Passed away peacefully at home with her family July 13, 2020. Sandy was born in Kalamazoo, and was raised by her parents Joe and Ruby Hudson. She graduated from Gobles High School, and attended classes at NW Michigan University. She married her husband Gary White, the love of her life in January, 1981.
Sandy was employed with U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring as a postmaster in 1992. After raising her four young children as a single mom, she began her life adventure with Gary. They enjoyed fishing in Traverse Bay, riding snowmobiles and motorcycles, and travel in general. They began spending winters in Panama City Beach, FL in 1992, and made many great friends and great memories.
Sandy enjoyed garage sales, playing cards, reading, shopping, watching the Lions and spending time with her family. She loved people and loved to laugh, which meant she was often the last to leave the party. Sandy and Gary lived in up in northern Michigan for 35 years, and moved back to Kalamazoo in 2015 to be closer to their family. Sandy was happiest when spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sandy leaves behind her husband Gary, her children Dr. Carmen (Robert) Jonaitis, Cheryl (Dominic) Rucci, Cathy (Jeffrey) Olmstead, her grandchildren Sandra Olmstead, Mike Olmstead and Alan Strong, and her great grandchildren Calista, Cassidy and Caitlyn. Sandy was proceeded in death by her son Michael Barrons, her brother Ronald Hudson, and her parents Joe and Ruby.
