Sandra Jean (Nan) Rhodes
Sandra Jean (Nan) Rhodes, 82, of Tunnelton, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by her side.
She was born February 18, 1935, in Tunnelton, the daughter of the late Dellis and Audra Shahan Wolfe.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Mrs. Rhodes was a member of the OES Chapter 143 in Newburg; the Colonel Rowen VFW Post 2345, Ladies Auxiliary in Tunnelton; co-owner and operator of the Western Auto in Oakland, MD; co-owner and operator of Preston Sanitation for 25 years; she was an avid lover of horse shows with her son; she traveled with her daughter to twirling competitions and many dance competitions and school events with her grandchildren and she and Carl got to travel to many parts of the United States.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carl Lee Rhodes; two sons, Richard Rhodes and wife, Marie and Ronald Rhodes and wife, Marlene all of Tunnelton; her daughter, Peggy Cochran and husband, Terry of Reedsville; her brother, Terry Allen Wolfe of Brookhaven; her sister, Willavene Plum of Tunnelton; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Rhodes and husband, Richards, Dr. Lindsay Jenkins and husband, Kylie, Brock Rhodes and wife, Jessica, Dr. Carly Lemley and husband, Ryan, Kayla McCloud and husband, Jason, Adam Rhodes and Cheyenne Rhodes, 10 great-grandchildren, Lyrick Rhodes, Aiden Jenkins, Blair Rhodes, Barrett Rhodes, Rylee Lemley, Camden Lemley, Karson McCloud, Alyson McCloud, Madyson McCloud and Landon McCloud and her puppy, Sophie.
Mrs. Rhodes was also preceded in death by her brother, Kermit Wolfe and her sister Wanela Bolyard.
