Sandra A. Forstner, age 80, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on February 2, 2022 at The Waterford Assisted Living facility surrounded by family.

Sandy was very proud to be a Pearl Harbor Baby, being born on December 7, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids. She was united in marriage to Gene “Butch” Forstner on August 26, 1961. In 1971, she and her husband started Machine Shop Center and she did all the accounting for the business. After they retired, she and Butch enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Arizona.

She was a very active member of the church. Sandy received the Woman of Light Award through the Diocese where she was also a former President of the Diocesan of Council of Catholic Women “DCCW”.

Sandy was known as “The Church Lady” and was generous and kind to everyone she met. Family was most important, and she loved to attend all events including racing and sporting events for her husband, children, and grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, gardening, doing ceramics, and reading.

Sandy is survived by her children: Chris (Shane) Hoffman and Doug (Angie) Forstner; grandchildren: Dustin (Leslie) Hoffman, Brandon (Marie) Hoffman, Sara (James) Helgeson, Kaila Forstner, and Sam Forstner; great-grandchildren: Jase, Livy, Carter, Savanna, and another great grandson on the way; siblings Marilyn “Pee Wee” Erickson and sister-in-law Barb Karlen.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gene “Butch” Forstner; parents: Marvin (Angie) Karlen; brother: Ken Karlen and brother-in-law Eric Erickson

The family would like to thank cousin Jayette for her kindness and devotion to Sandy and the family.
