South Bend – Samuel Rosen, 84, of South Bend, passed away on February 12, 2014 in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born on March 14, 1929, in Chicago, IL to the late Isaac and Rose (Brumberg) Rosen. On June 1, 1958 he married Ellen E. Alexander, who survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Elliot Rosen of Hoffman Estates, IL and Daniel Rosen of Lake in the Hills, IL and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Binah Malon. Mr. Rosen worked as an analytic chemist for Uniroyal and a chemistry teacher for Olney Central College, before retiring in 1994. He was a member of Gideon’s and served in the US Army from 1951-1953. 3545 N. 3545 N.
