Samuel P. Roseberry, 106, Anderson, died December 21, 2004 at Countryside Manor, Anderson after an extended illness.
He was born July 7, 1898 in Deputy, Indiana, and was an Anderson resident since 1922. He was the owner of Roseberry’s Grocery in Anderson. He served his country in the US Army during WWI where he earned the French Medal of Honor. He was the last surviving veteran of WWI. He was a member of Anderson First United Methodist Church. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge #77, F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his son, Phillip & wife Carol Roseberry of Indianapolis; daughter, Anita & husband Augustine Seulean of Anderson; four grandchildren, David & wife nancy Seulean, Andrew Seulean, Nancy & husband Michael Beausir and Thomas Roseberrry; great grandchildren, Sam Seulean, Kit Seulean, Louie Seulean, Wendy Seulean, Whitney Seulean, Wesley Seulean, Allyse Ally Beausir and Jacob Beausir and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay L. Roseberry on March 24, 1984; parents, William M. & Margaret Jane Kaylore Roseberry and three brothers, Ernest Roseberry, Carl Roseberry and Orville Roseberry
