Samuel L. Alexander, 58, formerly of Bethlehem passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, surrounded by his caretakers and loved ones. Sammy was born on April 5, 1960 in Harrisburg, PA to Samuel William and Joan (Avallone).
He graduated from Northampton Area High School in 1978. He then attended Indiana State University where he was a member of the Sigma Pi Chapter. He worked for his father at AB International Trucking Company for several years, until his math skills presented an opportunity to dabble in a finance career at Municipal Capital and Lehigh Capital Access, Inc.
Sammy loved all sports and was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles and Syracuse University fan. He had a spice for life, and loved talking to people. He enjoyed going to the beach, and spending time with his son.
He leaves behind a beloved son, Jacob who became his best friend and rock, especially over the past five years while he battled cancer. Jacob and his family want to take the time to thank each and every one of Sam’s caregivers at St. Luke’s Hospice and Gracedale Nursing Home where he resided for the past year.
SURVIVORS: Sam will be lovingly remembered by his son Jacob Benjamin of Bethlehem and father Samuel William of Bath. He is also survived by many extended family members. He was predeceased by his dear mother Joan.
