Mr. Whitley was born on August 5, 1934 to the late Samuel D. Whitley, Sr. and the late Rebecca Whitley. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice M. Whitley; and son, Tony Whitley. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy West; his son, Tim Whitley; grandchildren, Brian (Trish) Whitley, Beth (John) Walker, Christy (Michael) Bowie, Jeromy Hayes, Tiffany (Tyler) Bullock, and Ashlie Whitley and her fiancé Jarid; 11 great grandchildren; and his sister, Rachel Whitley.
