Those left to honor Sally’s memory are her two sons, Mike Safris of Newton, and Brian Safris of Wichita, Kansas; granddaughter, Emily Safris of Wichita; her brothers, David Core of Knoxville, Iowa, and Denny (Pam) Core of Clive, Iowa; and her sister, Suzie Core of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest E. and Ethelyn E. (Reynolds) Core.
Sally was a graduate of Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Iowa.
Sally worked for the Iowa Department of Corrections in Newton for 25+ years; she was in administration when she retired in 2003.
