Sallie Lea Bowles Age 63 of Owosso passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 unexpectedly at her home.Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Deacon Gary Edington officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and family at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.Sallie was born April 17, 1953 in Grayling, the daughter of Marx and Marcella (Wolf) Stephan.She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served on the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary. Sallie was a kind and energetic paraprofessional for many years at Washington Elementary School in Owosso. She retired to care for and love her grandchildren. She has been a very busy wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to spend her time volunteering at Central Elementary School. Sallie is very proud of her children and four granddaughters and she was preparing to spoil her soon to be delivered grandson. She enjoyed playing with the grandkids, doing crafts, baking, sewing and loving life.She married Robert “Bob” Bowles at St. Joseph Catholic Church on May 19, 1973.Sallie is survived by her husband of 43 years Bob; children Jason (Monica) Bowles, Carolynn (Rob) Collard and Lance (Megan) Bowles; grandchildren Kennedy, Kamerin, Addison and Lauren and baby boy due in January; mother Marcella; sisters Kay (Lane) Smallwood and Penny Stephan; father and mother-in-law Gerald and Catherine Bowles; brother and sister-in-laws Cheryl (Dave) Smith, Cathy (Robert) Flores, Sandra Bowles and Karin Bowles; several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her father and brother-in-law Wayne Bowles.Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for a college fund for her grandchildren.Online condolences may be sent to the family at Nelson-House.com.
