She is survived by three daughters, Kay Smith McMahan & husband Sam of Crossett, AR, Patricia Rainey & husband Dean of Indianola, MS, Lynn Hauser & husband Tommy of Memphis, TN; two sons, John T. Smith of Pineville, LA, Jimmy Sexton & wife Beverlee of Little Rock, AR; sister, Rebecca Kynerd of Memphis, TN; fourteen grandchildren, Patricia Hall, DeeDee Smith, Stephanie Pippen, Chip McMahan, Jason Rainey, Shannon Rainey, Jason Hunter, Brian Hunter, Rebecca Pinder, John Edward Smith, Robin Smith, Michael Fisher, Rachel Wade, Shalika Fisher; twenty-three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Alvin & Mary Hoffman; brothers, Harvey Hoffman, J.W. Hoffman, Alvin Hoffman, and James Owen Hoffman; sisters, Mary Hairston and Pauline McDonald.
Mrs. Sexton was a member of United Memorial Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught a kindergarten class and was Unit President of Memorial Methodist U.M.W. She was Secretary of VFW #2277 Auxilliary, served as President for 6 years, served as 13th District VFW Auxilliary President for 2 years and held chairmanships on all levels-local, state, and district. She received a Distinguished Service Award from the Bastrop Boys Club in 1975 and an award from the National VFW Auxilliary as Americanism Chairman in 1976. She received an award from the National VFW Auxilliary as Community Activities Chairman for the local VFW Auxilliary #2277 in 1986-1987, which is highest award given for Community Activities.
