Ruth Waters Flynn, 89, of Meredosia, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 24, 1919, in Alton, the daughter of Clyde and Marie Truitt Waters. She married Roy Delbert Flynn, and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Barfield of Versailles, 23 grandchildren, including Susan Flynn Martin, who was raised in her home; 33 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great grandchildren; and a nephew, Charles Browne of White City. She was preceded in death by one son, Clyde Flynn, and three daughters, Wanda Malone, Jean Writt and Glenna Hannon; and one sister, Charlotte Browne.
Mrs. Flynn attended Meredosia Baptist Church. She loved to travel and bake, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
