Helena Ruth Newberry, 89, of Berryville AR passed away on July 29, 2011 in Harrison. She was born October 31, 1921 in Berryville, daughter of the late Walter and Annie (Jackson) Smith. Ruth was a life-long resident of Carroll County. On June 7, 1941 she was united in marriage with Robert Ollie Brawley who preceded her in death. She later married Joel Claude Newberry who also preceded her in death. Before her retirement she was employed at Tysons (Ocoma Foods) in Berryville. As long as she was able she loved spending time working in her garden. She enjoyed fishing and sitting on the porch to relax. Ruth adored her family and considered anytime with them as her happiest times. She was of the Free Will Baptist faith. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Nancy Parton and husband Billy Dean of Berryville, Freda Horton and husband Jack of Green Forest, Nina Parton and husband Larry of Oak Grove, grandchildren; Bill Parton, Teresa Purdom, Randy Davidson, Gloria Shrock, Crystal Renee Sulffridge, Dean Newberry of Oklahoma, step-son, Earl Dean Newberry of Del Rio, TX, a host of great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and both husbands she is also preceded in death by an infant brother, Fedrick Smith and 2 daughters, Ina Sue Brawley and Linda Carol Brawley, 2 grandchildren Kelly Gene Horton and Tamara Gail Horton and a host of friends.
