SALEM – Ruth Mary Ozimek, 88, formerly of Benton Road in Salem, died at 12:51 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 in the Salem Community Hospital Emergency Room. She had resided at the Courtyard of Lexington in Salem. Mrs. Ozimek was born Jan. 7, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Feiler) Sprungle. Along with her husband John, she was co-owner of the OZ Mobile Park in Salem, Ohio from 1955-1984. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, VFW Post 892 Ladies Auxiliary and the Salem Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered for the American Red Cross, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and St. Paul bingo. She was preceded in death on Dec. 23, 1991 by her husband John (Oz) Ozimek, whom she married Nov. 16, 1946. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Kenneth, James II, Richard, Robert and John Sprungle; and a sister, Alyce Mooney. She is survived by her children, David (Ruth) Ozimek of St. Paris, Ohio; J. Dale (Teresa) Ozimek of Columbus, Ohio; and Donna (Rob) Spencer of Beloit, Ohio; a brother, Arthur (Jane) Sprungle of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Margaret Briggs of Mentor, Ohio and Rosemary Hahn of Broadview Heights, Ohio; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
