Ruth Marie (Hiller) Warner, 88, of Allentown died peacefully in her home at Moravian Village on Friday, September 6, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. Born in the house her father built on Greenleaf Street, Ruth graduated from William Allen High School in 1943. She enjoyed jitterbugging to big band music, cooking, canning, church activities, and spending time with her children. Because she loved meeting and talking with people, she enjoyed her jobs selling Stanley Home products and working in the moving business. She was also active in the local Republican Party. After retirement she volunteered at several local hospitals. Her final years were happily spent as a resident of Moravian Village in Bethlehem where she was affectionately known as “The Mayor”. Survivors: sons Karl E. Schreiter of Downingtown, Richard L. Schreiter of Allentown; daughters Harmonie M. Bassette of California, Cindy N. Sanchez of Hawaii; 6 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren.
