Ruth J. Lovering, 98, of Wisconsin Rapids, widow of Warren N. Lovering, O.D., died early Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from complications of influenza at Riverview Medical Center, Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Ruth was born in Bangor, Maine on June 18, 1914, the daughter of William S. and Victoria (Pilkey) McKinnon. In late 2002, she moved to Wisconsin Rapids, the home of her daughter Victoria and son-in-law David Henke. She attended Bangor Schools, graduating from Bangor High School in 1931 and the Maine School of Commerce (now Husson College) in 1933.
Ruth taught two summer courses in shorthand and typing under Franklin D. Roosevelt?s ERA program to help needy girls obtain jobs. From 1955-1971 she was employed as a secretary at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor.
