HARVEY – Ruth Lorraine (Loutzenheiser) Harvey, 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2007. She was the loving wife of the late Lyle H. Harvey for 61 years. Born in Gothenburg, NE, she was the daughter of the late Homer Clyde and Besse (Wilson) Loutzenheiser. She received her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Zoology and English from the University of Nebraska. Residing in New Orleans since 1951, she was secretary for the Louisiana Cactus and Succulent Society, a member of the New Orleans Symphony Women’s Auxiliary, the New Orleans Petroleum Geological Association Women’s Auxiliary, and the Lake Vista Women’s Club. Ruth was also a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the Purple Martin Society and participated in numerous environmental organizations and neighborhood volunteer fund raisers. She was a member of the Lake Vista United Methodist Church and was the church organist in her hometown of Gothenburg, NE. She is survived by two sons, Kim Harvey and Karl Harvey; two daughters, Kay Wiley and Karen Bonnette; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 brothers.
