Ruth L. Haney, age 93, of Filer, died peacefully, Thursday, April 27, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Twin Falls, ID surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born in Salt Lake City, UT on Jan. 18, 1924, to Ray and Agnes Grace Taylor Walton. She was the fourth of six children. She grew up in South Salt Lake and graduated from Granite High School. She was working as a telephone operator for Mt. Bell when she met George E Haney, Jr. at age 18. They were married on Jan. 15, 1943. George and Ruth made their home in Salt Lake City until June of that year when George enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in Pilot Training. Upon discharge in 1945 they returned to Salt Lake City. They settled in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1953 where they raised their five children. Behind every good man is a great woman, and for over 50 years she supported and worked beside her husband in the Insurance and Real Estate business. Together they have spent the past 29 years working together in their Melaleuca business, making a difference in every life they have touched. Ruth was a charter member of her Literary Art Guild.
