Ruth Joan (Hoffmann) Catalanello, 91, of LaSalle, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at Heritage Healthcare Center, Peru.
Mrs. Catalanello was born November 6, 1928 in Peru to Frank and Ethyl (Edwards) Hoffmann. She was raised in Ladd and then LaSalle. She was a graduate of Hall High School, Spring Valley. She married Anton “Curly” Catalanello in 1948 in LaSalle County.
Mrs. Catalanello was a member of St. Hyacinth’s Church, LaSalle. She worked at Westclox and St. Margaret’s Hospital. She enjoyed dancing and music, especially playing piano and organ. She was a Chicago Cubs fan. She loved her family including her cats, Cali and Ginger and her dog, Scruffy.
Survivors include three sons, David (Angela), Ronald and Donald Catalanello all of LaSalle; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her former husband, Anton; two sons, Joseph and Kenneth Catalanello; her parents and her brother, Floyd Hoffmann.Pallbearers will be her three sons; two grandsons, Dylan and Tony Catalanello and Dino Capitani.
